MP360 Wood-Mizer 4-Sided Planer / Moulder
High production 4-sided moulder and planer for full flexibility to produce finished timber.
The MP360 is a four-sided planer/moulder designed for professional workshops and high-volume woodworking operations. Compact in size yet highly capable, it offers a practical balance of efficiency, accuracy, and ease of operation, making it a suitable choice for businesses that require consistent results and flexible production.
This machine is used to manufacture a wide range of finished wooden products, including flooring, profiled and decorative boards, panels, window and door components, and furniture parts. The cutting system includes two horizontal cutterheadsโa 510 mm top cutterhead and a 410 mm bottom cutterheadโalong with two vertical side cutterheads, each with a standard height of 40 mm. One side cutterhead is fixed, while the other can be adjusted to match the workpiece dimensions.
Both side cutterheads are supplied with two HSS straight knives as standard equipment. All cutterheads support optional profile knives in various shapes and sizes, allowing the machine to be configured for different moulding tasks. By machining all four sides in a single pass, the
MP360 significantly reduces processing time and improves overall productivity. The control panel enables independent control of each cutterhead and precise adjustment of the feed speed, while the feed rollers ensure smooth and stable material transport.
The standard steel feed rollers can be upgraded depending on application requirements. Hardened steel rollers are available for processing harder or larger timber, while polyurethane rollers provide additional surface protection for sensitive materials.
The work table is manufactured from high-quality cast iron and CNC-machined to minimize vibration and maintain stability during operation. For improved handling of long workpieces, the MP360 can be equipped with an extended 2-meter outfeed table. The operator control panel is positioned above the feed table for easy access. The machine is powered by electric motors with a combined output of 16.25 kW.
Dust extraction is handled through four outlets: one 125 mm port and three 100 mm ports, all strategically positioned to efficiently remove chips from the cutterheads and maintain a clean working environment.
The MP360 supports planing and moulding of side surfaces up to 160 mm in height. The required working height is achieved by selecting the appropriate optional side cutterhead, available in 100 mm, 130 mm, or 160 mm versions. A spindle extension is required when installing the 160 mm cutterhead.
In standard 4-sided operation, the maximum moulding width is 350 mm. By removing the side cutterheads, the working width can be increased to 410 mm for two-sided processing, or up to 510 mm when machining only one side using a single cutterhead.
Applications
cabinet component production
medium workshopCabinet shops use the MP360 to process rough lumber and edge-glued panels into finished stiles, rails, and case sides in one pass. The machine planes all four faces to final dimension, eliminating the need for multiple planer setups and reducing material handling between operations. High-volume producers can achieve consistent thickness, width, and squareness across hundreds of parts per shift, meeting the tight tolerances required for face-frame and panel-based cabinet assembly.
architectural millwork production
industrial workshopMillwork shops producing custom mouldings, trim, and decorative components rely on the MP360's ability to machine complex profiles while maintaining dimensional accuracy across large production runs. The machine's multi-spindle design allows simultaneous face planing and profile cutting, reducing the number of separate machines and operations needed for decorated stiles, cornice elements, and ornamental trim pieces supplied to construction and renovation projects.
solid wood flooring milling
industrial workshopFlooring mills use the MP360 to mill rough-sawn or partially processed hardwood strips to finished dimensions with consistent thickness, width, and edge profiling (tongue-and-groove or shiplap) in a single operation. The 4-sided approach minimizes rejects due to mismatched faces or edges, critical for prefinished flooring where visible defects reduce product grade. High throughput on this machine is essential for mills processing thousands of board feet daily.
timber construction component production
medium workshopProducers of glulam beams, engineered lumber components, and solid wood structural elements use the MP360 to dimension and finish-plane lumber after glue-up or as part of final sizing operations. The simultaneous 4-sided planing ensures parallel faces and uniform width, critical for load-bearing applications where dimensional consistency affects structural performance. The machine handles both hardwoods and softwoods at production speeds that align with fabrication workflows in timber frame and mass timber operations.
