Gabbiani A3

Panel Processing โ€” SCM Group

An angular panel saw designed for medium-large companies, capable of high production rates with optional automatic loading-unloading systems. Suitable for rip cutting and cross-cutting operations with multiple dimension configurations.

The Gabbiani A3 is a high-performance angular panel saw engineered for precision rip and cross-cutting operations on sheet materials in medium to large-scale production environments. As part of SCM Group's panel processing lineup, it delivers industrial-grade cutting accuracy with working dimensions ranging from 3200 ร— 2440 mm up to 5600 ร— 2440 mm, accommodating full-sheet processing for plywood, MDF, particleboard, and solid wood panels.

The machine is built around a dual-blade routing unit with main blade diameters of 430โ€“530 mm and motorization scaling from 15 kW to 37 kW depending on configuration, enabling consistent performance across varying material densities and thicknesses. The saw carriage operates at 170 m/min cutting speed with pusher feed at 135 m/min, delivering throughput rates suitable for high-volume operations. Optional scoring blade capability (200โ€“300 mm diameter) minimizes chipping on coated or veneer-faced panels. The lifting table system ensures ergonomic material handling and precise dimensional repeatability across cut sequences.

Optional automatic loading-unloading systems transform the Gabbiani A3 into a fully integrated production cell, eliminating manual material handling bottlenecks and enabling near-continuous operation for shops processing 50+ panels per shift. This makes it the preferred choice for cabinet manufacturers, kitchen and bathroom producers, and large joinery shops running standardized or semi-standardized cutting programs with batch sizes of 100+ units.

Applications

flooring and construction element cutting

industrial workshop

Supports engineered flooring, laminate, and construction panel producers requiring repeatable cross-cuts and rips on large composite sheets. The scoring blade option (up to 300 mm diameter) prevents tearout on pre-finished surfaces, while the optional auto-feed system enables unattended cutting runs for high-speed production of component packs destined for assembly lines or distribution.

millwork and custom sheet processing

medium workshop

Serves architectural millwork and custom fabrication shops cutting veneered, lacquered, or specialty panel faces where edge quality is critical. The Gabbiani A3's precise blade projection (130โ€“165 mm) and selectable motor power (15โ€“37 kW) accommodate both delicate veneered panels and dense solid wood panels, with optional automatic feeding ensuring consistent feed rates that prevent burning or chipping on premium materials.

cabinet and kitchen production

industrial workshop

Ideal for cabinet makers and kitchen manufacturers processing large volumes of MDF and plywood sheets into precise components. The machine's 5600 ร— 2440 mm maximum table accepts full sheets, enabling efficient nesting of multiple cabinet sides, shelves, and door blanks in a single pass. With motorization up to 37 kW and scoring blade option, it handles edge-banded and pre-finished panels while maintaining tight tolerances critical for hinge boring and assembly.

panel rip and crosscut standardization

medium workshop

Best suited for job shops requiring fast dimension conversion of panel stock into normalized widths and lengths (e.g., 500 ร— 1000 mm blanks for furniture frames or shelving). The 170 m/min carriage speed and adjustable cutting dimensions (3200โ€“5600 mm) allow quick tool-free format changes, making the A3 efficient for short-run batch work with 10โ€“20 different cutting programs per day.
