Gabbiani G2

Panel Processing โ€” SCM Group

Advanced automatic single-blade beam saw delivering speed, precision, and flexibility with excellent price-performance ratio. Designed for panel processing with variable speed capabilities and flexible cutting options.

The Gabbiani G2 is an automatic single-blade beam saw engineered for high-volume panel processing in industrial and medium-scale woodworking facilities. As a horizontal crosscutting machine, it combines a rigid beam structure with precision blade guidance to deliver consistent panel ripping and crosscutting operations across variable material thicknesses and widths.

The machine's core technical strength lies in its variable-speed architecture and modular power configuration. Saw carriage speeds range from 0-150 m/min (G2 115) to 0-170 m/min (G2 130), while the pusher operates at 70 m/min, enabling operators to optimize feed rates for different materials and blade types. Motor options span 7.5 kW to 18.5 kW depending on configuration, with inverter support up to 100Hz for G2 130 models. Blade projection depths of 115mm (G2 115) or 128mm (G2 130) accommodate both standard panels and engineered board products. Cutting lengths available in 3200mm, 3800mm, and 4500mm configurations provide flexibility across different production floor footprints.

The G2 targets medium to industrial workshops processing 50+ panels daily in batch or continuous production runs. Six-point pneumatic clamping ensures material stability during cutting, while optional HI-TRONIC vertical stroke technology and FLEXCUT devices (1/S or 1/D configurations) enable advanced material handling and multi-cut capabilities. An optional Advanced Building Materials Cutting Kit extends the machine's applicability to composite panels, melamine, and veneered substrates commonly found in cabinet, furniture, and architectural panel production.

Applications

panel processing batch production

industrial workshop

Purpose-built for converting full-size panel sheets (melamine, plywood, MDF) into dimensioned blanks for downstream CNC or edge-banding operations. The 4500mm cutting length accommodates full-width panels, while inverter-driven motors (up to 18.5 kW) and automatic pusher control enable consistent 70 m/min feed rates across multi-hour production schedules without operator intervention.

cabinet component production

industrial workshop

The G2 excels at high-volume ripping and crosscutting of cabinet side panels, shelves, and structural components from 3mm to 50mm solid wood and engineered boards. Variable carriage speed (0-170 m/min) allows operators to adjust feed rates for hardwoods versus softwoods, maintaining dimensional accuracy across batch runs of 100+ identical panels while the six-point clamping system prevents material shift during precision cuts.

custom furniture millwork

medium workshop

Medium-scale custom furniture shops use the G2 to cut panel components for built-in cabinetry, wardrobes, and architectural millwork. The variable-speed pusher and selectable 3200mm or 3800mm cutting lengths adapt to job-shop workflows where batch sizes range from 10-50 pieces, while optional FLEXCUT devices enable single-pass or dual-pass cutting strategies depending on material and edge finish requirements.

composite engineered board cutting

medium workshop

With the optional Advanced Building Materials Cutting Kit, the G2 processes composite panels, veneered substrates, and architectural elements without chipping or delamination. The 15-18 kW motor configuration provides sufficient torque for harder engineered materials, while blade projection depths up to 128mm handle sandwich constructions common in modern panel furniture and commercial fit-out work.
