Minimax SI 315ES
Solid Wood Processing — SCM Group
Professional circular saw with tilting blade delivering quality cutting performances for solid wood processing. Designed for precision and reliability in demanding woodworking applications.
The Minimax SI 315ES is a tilting-blade circular saw engineered for precision crosscutting and ripping operations in professional solid wood processing. Built on SCM Group's proven platform, it delivers consistent, high-quality cuts across hardwoods and softwoods in demanding workshop and small production environments.
The machine combines a 315 mm (12.4") maximum saw blade diameter with a robust 4.8 Hp single-phase motor, delivering reliable cutting power for both straight rips and angled bevels. The tilting blade mechanism enables precise angle cuts up to 45°, while the arbor design (30 mm / 1.18") accommodates standard industrial blades. Blade projection reaches 101 mm at 90° and 71 mm at 45°, providing adequate depth for processing solid lumber up to approximately 100 mm thickness. The 1270 mm (50") rip capacity on the parallel fence supports efficient processing of standard board widths, while the 3200 mm (8.5') extended sliding table enables accurate crosscutting and squaring of longer stock without repositioning.
This machine is designed for medium-sized woodworking operations—cabinet makers, custom millwork shops, and furniture producers—that require accuracy without the footprint or cost of larger industrial saws. It suits shops processing 5–15 m³ of solid wood monthly, where precision and repeatability are critical but production volumes don't justify industrial-scale equipment. The single-phase power requirement makes it accessible to standard workshop electrical infrastructure.

Applications
custom millwork
medium workshopCustom millwork shops use the SI 315ES for precise ripping of hardwood lumber to exact widths (up to 1270 mm) and crosscutting architectural components such as trim, rails, and stiles. The tilting blade accommodates angled cuts for profile assembly, while the extended sliding table ensures repeatable 90° and 45° cuts on stock up to 3.2 m long without manual repositioning, critical for matching grain and finishing details in bespoke projects.
cabinet making
medium workshopCabinet makers rely on the SI 315ES for dimensioning solid wood components—frame sides, shelves, and door blanks—with the 1270 mm rip capacity handling wide boards efficiently. The precision tilting blade supports angled joinery cuts and panel bevels, while the 4.8 Hp motor maintains consistent feed speed through hardwoods, reducing chatter and surface tearout in finishing-ready stock.
solid wood crafting
small workshopSmall artisan woodworking shops and furniture makers use the SI 315ES for both ripping stock to size and crosscutting blanks for tables, chairs, and decorative pieces. The tilting blade enables bevel and compound cuts for joinery and design details, while single-phase power availability makes it suitable for workshop environments where three-phase service is unavailable.
timber construction
medium workshopTimber framing and structural woodworking shops employ the SI 315ES for processing solid wood beams and posts, utilizing the 1270 mm rip capacity for dimension lumber preparation and the extended sliding table for accurate angled cuts in joinery assembly. The robust motor supports sustained cutting in dense hardwoods used in timber-frame construction and heavy structural components.
