MP280 4-Sided Planer / Moulder

The MP280 is fitted with a user-friendly control panel that allows the motors and feed system to be operated independently, helping to reduce energy consumption and noise levels. Its electric motors, with a total power of 13.78 kW, drive the cutterheads at 6,000 rpm, delivering a high-quality surface finish on the processed boards. The machine is configured with four cutterheads: two horizontal and two vertical. The top cutterhead has a working width of 410 mm and a diameter of 88 mm, while the bottom cutterhead measures 300 mm in width with a 72 mm diameter. Two side cutterheads—one fixed and one adjustable—allow profiling up to a material height of 100 mm. Processing all four sides in a single pass significantly improves productivity. The feed system, derived from the larger MP360 model, operates at a variable speed between 3 and 15 m/min to suit different materials and applications. Infeed and outfeed tables are each 1.2 m long, and the infeed area is protected by steel safety curtains to prevent material throwback. There are four sawdust exhaust ports – one with a diameter of 125 mm and three with 100 mm - and additional covers and brushes installed inside the machine to drive out the waste material from around the cutter heads as efficiently as possible. The MP280 planer/moulder is compatible with the Wood-Mizer MES dust extraction systems, which have been designed to keep the workplace clean and tidy.
