The MP280 is a 4-sided planer/moulder that performs simultaneous top, bottom, and dual-side cutting in a single pass, eliminating the need for multiple machine setups. This configuration enables woodworking facilities to process solid wood blanks to finished dimensions while creating custom moulding profiles in one operation, significantly reducing handling time and material waste.
The machine is powered by 13.78 kW motors driving dual horizontal cutter heads (410 mm length, 88 mm diameter on top; 300 mm length, 72 mm diameter on bottom) and two side cutter heads, all operating at 6000 rpm for consistent surface quality across all four sides. Variable feed speeds ranging from 3 to 15 m/min allow operators to optimize cutting parameters based on wood species, moisture content, and desired surface finish.
