MP410 Planer / Moulder

Solid Wood Processing

A modern, industrial-grade 4-sided planer/moulder designed for demanding manufacturing facilities. Equipped with powered top and bottom rollers for smooth operation with wet, freshly cut wood, and large cross-sections.

The MP410 is a 4-sided planer/moulder designed for industrial-scale production of dimensioned solid wood components. It simultaneously machines all four faces of workpieces up to 410 mm wide and 230 mm high in a single pass, eliminating the need for sequential processing steps and delivering finished parts ready for assembly or further milling operations.

The machine features powered top and bottom feed rollers engineered specifically for processing freshly cut and moisture-rich timber, a critical advantage for mills processing green lumber or recently kiln-dried stock where traditional friction-feed systems fail. This capability substantially reduces drying time requirements and allows integration with just-in-time production workflows. The synchronized four-head configuration delivers consistent stock removal across width and thickness dimensions, maintaining tolerance repeatability essential for structural applications and precision millwork.

The MP410 serves industrial manufacturers and mid-to-large custom millwork facilities processing 50+ employees) operating production volumes of 5,000+ linear feet monthly. It is optimally deployed for structural beam finishing, architectural molding production, window and door jamb blanks, and engineered flooring component preparation. The machine excels with softwoods, hardwoods, and engineered lumber species in widths up to 410 mm, accommodating both commodity throughput and complex profile requirements.

Within its segment, the MP410 balances throughput capacity with dimensional accuracy superior to single-pass three-sided systems, while remaining more operationally efficient than specialized profile moulds for applications requiring general 4-square dimensioning rather than complex decorative profiling.

Applications

window door component production

medium workshop

Window and door manufacturers use the MP410 to dimension jamb stock, sill blanks, and frame rails from rough lumber or finger-joint blanks. The machine's ability to simultaneously square all four faces ensures consistent glazing rebate references and assembly-ready components without secondary jointing, critical for repeatability in component assembly lines.

architectural molding blanks

industrial workshop

Custom millwork facilities producing architectural trim and molding blanks rely on the MP410 to rough-dimension solid stock to finished width and thickness before profiling on dedicated moulder equipment. Processing up to 230 mm height material enables production of thick stile-and-rail blanks and decorative trim components requiring subsequent routing or shaping operations.

structural timber processing

industrial workshop

Mills producing structural framing components use the MP410 to finish rough-sawn or gang-ripped lumber into dimensioned beams and joists up to 410 mm wide. The powered roller feed system handles green or freshly kiln-dried softwoods and hardwoods without slippage, delivering consistent 4-sided dimensioning for grade-stamped products meeting building codes. High-volume throughput (100+ pieces per shift) supports production of residential and commercial framing packages.

engineered flooring substrate

industrial workshop

Engineered flooring producers process solid hardwood substrates and backing layers through the MP410 to achieve finished thickness and width tolerances required for glue-lamination and veneer application. The powered feed system's gentle handling of moisture-variable hardwoods prevents warping and surface defects that would compromise veneer bond quality.
