Nova SI 4S
Solid Wood Processing โ SCM Group
A sliding table saw that combines accuracy, reliability and sturdiness to guarantee high performance standards. Designed for precision cutting and squaring operations in woodworking.
The Nova SI 4S is a precision sliding table saw engineered for high-performance solid wood processing in professional woodworking environments. Built on SCM Group's proven platform, it delivers repeatable accuracy for squaring and ripping operations through a combination of rigid construction and sliding table mechanics that ensure consistent cut quality across production runs.
The machine accommodates saw blade diameters up to 315 mm (400 mm with optional scoring unit), enabling blade projection depths of 140 mm at 90ยฐ and 99 mm at 46ยฐ, which supports both straight crosscuts and angled operations. The squaring capacity reaches 1600 mm, while rip fence cutting widths extend to 1000 mm or 1500 mm depending on configuration. Motor options start at 5 kW (6 kW available) on three-phase supply, providing adequate power for dense hardwoods and continuous production cycles.
The Nova SI 4S suits medium-sized workshops and small-to-medium production facilities processing solid wood componentsโdoor frames, cabinet blanks, furniture components, and architectural millwork. Its sliding table design eliminates the need for manual material handling during crosscutting, reducing operator fatigue and improving safety while maintaining dimensional accuracy across hundreds of pieces. The optional scoring unit extends capability into veneered panels and laminated materials where chip-out prevention is critical.
In its class, the Nova SI 4S balances precision tooling with practical operator ergonomics. The 1600 mm squaring range and configurable rip fence widths accommodate both small architectural components and longer stock pieces, making it more versatile than dedicated ripsaw machines while maintaining the perpendicularity control that distinguishes sliding table saws from conventional bandsaws.

Applications
custom millwork
medium workshopCustom millwork shops benefit from the machine's flexibility in handling variable-length architectural trim, door components, and window frame stock up to 1600 mm. The combination of 315 mm blade diameter with adjustable 46ยฐ bevel capability supports both standard profiles and angled cuts for decorative moldings and specialty joinery components.
furniture production
small workshopSmall-to-medium furniture makers use the Nova SI 4S to square and rip solid wood blanks for table legs, rails, and panels with repeatable accuracy. The sliding table design reduces setup time between pieces, enabling efficient batch processing of furniture components in hardwoods while the 5-6 kW motor handles continuous production without thermal cycling.
cabinet making
medium workshopThe Nova SI 4S excels in cabinet component production, where 1600 mm squaring capacity and up to 1500 mm rip widths enable efficient crosscutting and dimensioning of cabinet sides, shelves, and face frames in solid wood. The sliding table mechanism ensures square, chip-free edges on hardwoods (oak, maple, walnut) critical for visible cabinet surfaces, while the optional scoring unit prevents splintering on veneered panel facings.
timber construction
industrial workshopIndustrial operations processing construction timbers and engineered components leverage the 1500 mm rip capacity and 1600 mm squaring range for high-volume dimensioning of beams, headers, and structural blanks. The rigid sliding table maintains tolerance consistency across large production runs where cumulative dimensional errors must stay within 0.5 mm per 100 pieces.
