SAWTEQ A-400 | A-410 Angular Saw Unit
Panel Processing โ Homag Group
A high-precision panel dividing saw that cuts lengthwise and crosswise fully automatically with feed speeds up to 170 meters per minute. Designed for high-volume continuous operation with excellent accuracy and speed.
The SAWTEQ A-400 | A-410 is a dual-axis angular saw unit designed for automated lengthwise and crosswise panel division in high-throughput woodworking operations. It combines a rip saw with independent carriage motion and a cross-cut saw in a single integrated system, enabling continuous processing of large panel books without intermediate handling or repositioning.
The machine delivers exceptional precision and speed through parallel processing architecture: the rip saw operates with program fence speeds up to 90 m/min across cutting lengths of 3,200 / 4,300 / 5,600 mm (configurable), while the cross-cut saw maintains independent speeds up to 140 m/min with a fixed 2,200 mm cutting length. The saw carriage itself accelerates to 150 m/min standard (170 m/min optional), enabling rapid approach and retract cycles. Motor options range from 11 kW base configuration to 24 kW (50 Hz) or 28 kW (60 Hz), accommodating both softwood and dense engineered materials. The 24-inch full-HD multi-touch display with CADmatic 5 software provides real-time nesting optimization and job sequencing across multiple cutting patterns.
This machine targets industrial-scale panel processors and integrated furniture manufacturers operating 3-shift production environments. Typical applications include division of melamine, plywood, and solid wood panels into component blanks for case goods, ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture, and kitchen cabinetry. The system excels at jobs requiring 500+ panel units per shift with mixed cutting patterns, where manual or slower semi-automatic saws create bottlenecks.
Within its class, the SAWTEQ A-400 | A-410 distinguishes itself through dual independent saw axes that eliminate sequential processing delaysโboth rip and cross cuts execute in optimized sequence rather than as discrete operations. Combined feed rates and carriage speeds position it above entry-level beam saws but below full-scale CNC multi-blade systems, making it the optimal choice for high-volume panel processors with space and budget constraints.

Applications
panel processing high volume
industrial workshopProcessing large books of melamine and plywood sheets into furniture blanks for RTA cabinet assembly. The machine divides panels lengthwise at up to 90 m/min fence speed, then cross-cuts at 140 m/min, handling 500+ sheets per shift with minimal operator intervention via CADmatic 5 nesting software.
integrated furniture manufacturing
industrial workshopServes as a primary processing stage in integrated furniture lines, converting raw panels into sized components for case goods, drawer boxes, and shelving systems. Dual-axis operation reduces handling cycles and enables single-pass optimization of mixed cutting patterns across a full day's production schedule.
cabinet door and component blanks
medium workshopProduces precision-cut blanks for custom cabinet doors, stiles, and rails from engineered panels and solid wood stock. The 110 mm (125 mm optional) blade projection and configurable cutting lengths (up to 5,600 mm) accommodate both large panels and smaller component blanks with repeatable accuracy.
engineered material processing
industrial workshopOptimized for continuous processing of composite and dense panel materials (MDF, HDF, veneered plywood) that require controlled blade engagement and minimal chipping. Motor options up to 28 kW provide sufficient torque for demanding cuts while the high carriage speed (170 m/min optional) maintains production throughput.
