SAWTEQ S-400 plastics

Panel Processing โ€” Homag Group

A specialized panel dividing saw engineered for precision plastics processing. Available in three cutting lengths with reverse cutting capability and frequency-controlled motor for optimal material handling.

The SAWTEQ S-400 plastics is a precision panel dividing saw engineered specifically for high-volume processing of plastic sheet materials including PETG, polycarbonate, and other scratch-sensitive surfaces. Unlike general-purpose panel saws, this machine combines reverse cutting technology with frequency-controlled motor operation to prevent material chipping, melting, and surface damage inherent to plastic machining.

The machine delivers technical precision through its CADmatic 5 material-dependent control system, which automatically adjusts processing parameters based on plastic type and thickness. With saw carriage speeds ranging from 0.1 to 150 m/min and program fence speeds up to 90 m/min, operators achieve optimal cut quality across varying material densities. The 125 mm saw blade projection accommodates thick-stock plastics while maintaining dimensional accuracy. Available in three cutting lengths (3,200 / 3,800 / 4,300 mm), the S-400 plastics scales to accommodate mid-size to large-format sheets without requiring secondary trimming operations.

The 24 kW (50 Hz) or 28 kW (60 Hz) main saw motor provides consistent cutting force across production runs, while the 24-inch full-HD multi-touch display enables real-time job programming and diagnostics. This configuration positions the S-400 plastics for industrial and large-medium workshops producing high volumes of precision plastic componentsโ€”signage manufacturers, acrylic fabricators, protective barrier producers, and plastic furniture frame specialists who require non-contact precision without manual finishing.

Applications

acrylic signage production

medium workshop

Acrylic and PETG sheet cutting for illuminated signage and display manufacturing. The reverse cutting capability and frequency-controlled motor prevent stress fractures and surface crazing common in sign blanks, delivering ready-to-edge-finish blanks at production speeds up to 90 m/min. CADmatic material-dependent parameters adapt to different acrylic grades and thicknesses.

protective barrier manufacturing

industrial workshop

Production of polycarbonate protective barriers, machine guards, and safety enclosures requiring burr-free, non-chipped edges. Reverse cutting technology eliminates mechanical stress on heat-sensitive plastics, and the 24 kW motor delivers consistent cutting force for repetitive batch runs without material deformation or thermal damage.

plastic furniture frame blanks

industrial workshop

High-volume production of polycarbonate and rigid plastic sheet blanks for furniture frame components and structural subassemblies. The S-400's three cutting-length options (up to 4,300 mm) handle full-sheet nesting layouts with minimal waste, while 0.1โ€“150 m/min carriage speed control enables precision cuts on both thin veneers and 125 mm-thick structural stock.

custom plastic panel cutting

medium workshop

Custom and semi-custom cutting of specialty plastic sheets (PVC, polystyrene, rigid composites) for architectural cladding, display components, and industrial enclosures. The CADmatic 5 control system stores and recalls material-specific profiles, allowing rapid job changeover and consistent quality across short production runs.
