Accord 40 FXM

CNC Machining Centers โ€” SCM Group

The Accord 40 FXM is a CNC machining centre designed for high-flexibility production of various wooden elements. It combines routing, drilling, and edgebanding capabilities in a single versatile platform.

The Accord 40 FXM is a professional CNC machining centre engineered for high-flexibility production of solid wood components and wooden panels. It integrates routing, drilling, and edgebanding operations in a single platform, eliminating the need for multiple standalone machines and reducing material handling between processes. The system accommodates six configurable working area dimensions (ranging from 3650ร—1600 mm to 6170ร—2120 mm), allowing workshops to optimize bed size based on material dimensions and production batches.

The machine delivers advanced 5-axis routing capability via dual electrospindle configurationsโ€”a 17 kW motor reaching 24,000 rpm for complex profiling and 3D shaping, paired with a 15 kW secondary spindle for simultaneous multi-operation workflows. The drilling unit features up to 30 independently controlled vertical and horizontal spindles operating at 8,000 rpm, enabling rapid hole arrays, pocket drilling, and dowel placement without repositioning. Rapid traverse speeds of 90 m/min on X-Y axes and 30 m/min on Z minimize idle time between operations. The tool management system provides 72 total tool positions (12 on-head + 48 rear + 12 side storage), reducing tool change interruptions during extended production runs.

The Accord 40 FXM targets medium to industrial woodworking operations producing cabinet components, furniture frames, architectural millwork, and panel assemblies in volumes ranging from small batch to mid-scale production. It serves operations requiring precision multi-axis work on solid wood and engineered panels without investing in separate CNC routing, drilling, and edge-processing equipment. This machine class suits manufacturers balancing flexibility with throughput, particularly those handling custom or semi-custom orders with varying complexity.

Applications

cabinet making

medium workshop

Cabinet makers use the Accord 40 FXM to produce component sets (sides, shelves, backs, door frames) from solid wood and plywood in batches of 10โ€“50 units per job. The 5-axis routing capability enables curved edge profiles and decorative grooves, while the 30-spindle drilling head executes hole patterns for dowels, shelf pins, and hardware mounting in seconds. Multiple working area sizes accommodate both full-sheet processing and optimized nesting of smaller components.

architectural millwork

industrial workshop

Architectural millwork shops producing custom wall panels, door frames, and trim elements leverage the machine's dual-spindle 5-axis routing to execute complex moulding profiles, rebates, and mortises on solid wood blanks. The 6170ร—2120 mm working area processes full-length architectural components; the edgebanding capability integrates finished edges in a single setup, reducing downstream hand-finishing labour and ensuring dimensional consistency across large projects.

solid wood crafting

small workshop

Small high-end woodworking studios use the Accord 40 FXM for limited-production decorative panels, sculptural elements, and bespoke furniture components that demand precision 5-axis shaping and intricate surface detailing. The machine's flexibility supports one-off custom work and low-volume runs without the capital investment of oversized industrial equipment; smaller working area options (3650ร—1600 mm) fit workshop floor space constraints.

furniture production

medium workshop

Furniture manufacturers producing tables, chairs, and storage units employ the Accord 40 FXM to machine leg components, seat frames, and panel blanks with complex joinery (mortises, tenons, pocket holes) using the integrated drilling and routing functions. The 72-position tool store minimizes changeovers during mixed-component runs, and the configurable bed sizes optimize material yield across various furniture scales.
