DMC System B
Sanding & Calibrating โ SCM Group
A highly configurable calibrating and sanding machine designed for companies requiring lower side sanding of wood elements. Features adjustable working widths and thickness capacities for flexible production needs.
The DMC System B is a wide belt sanding and calibrating machine engineered for precision thickness reduction and surface finishing of solid wood and engineered wood products. As a lower-side sanding unit, it delivers controlled material removal from the underside of workpieces, making it essential for achieving uniform thickness and superior surface quality in high-demand woodworking operations.
The machine offers four configurable working width optionsโ650mm, 1350mm, 1650mm, and 2200mmโenabling adaptation to diverse production scenarios without requiring complete machine replacement. It accommodates material thicknesses from 3mm to 160mm with fixed working table setup, supported by longitudinal sanding belts available in complementary widths (670โ2270mm) and lengths (1900โ2620mm). Two working table heights (900mm and 1440mm) provide ergonomic flexibility for different production floor layouts and operator preferences, while adjustable belt tension and positioning ensure consistent sanding pressure across the working width.
The DMC System B is designed for medium to industrial-scale workshops processing solid wood components, veneered panels, and calibrated boards where thickness consistency and flatness are critical. It serves operations ranging from 20โ200+ pieces per shift, depending on material type, desired surface finish, and thickness reduction requirements. The machine is particularly suited for companies producing cabinet components, architectural millwork, door and window frames, and engineered wood products that demand precision calibration prior to joinery or finishing.
Within its class, the DMC System B combines compact footprint flexibility with industrial-grade sanding capability, positioning it as a mid-range solution between entry-level single-width sanders and fully automated multi-head systems. Its modular width configuration reduces capital investment while maintaining throughput efficiency for shops requiring occasional production scaling.

Applications
engineered panel thickness control
industrial workshopFine-tuning thickness and flatness of engineered wood products (plywood, MDF, particle board layups) in the 8โ50mm range to meet tolerance specifications for furniture, cabinetry, and construction applications. Industrial-scale operation handles 200+ panels daily, with adjustable belt tension maintaining consistent sanding pressure across 1650โ2200mm working widths.
door and frame manufacturing
medium workshopCalibrating door stiles, rails, and frame components to uniform thickness and surface finish prior to mortising and assembly. The lower-side sanding capability eliminates glue squeeze-out and surface irregularities, improving joint fit and reducing downstream hand-finishing labor on production runs of 100โ300 doors per week.
architectural millwork production
industrial workshopProcessing solid wood trim, rails, stiles, and decorative panels for custom millwork projects requiring calibration to exacting tolerances (ยฑ0.2mm). The 2200mm maximum width handles large architectural elements, while the 3โ160mm thickness range accommodates everything from thin veneers to thick structural posts in single-pass operations.
cabinet component calibration
medium workshopSanding cabinet side panels, shelves, and frames to precise thickness (typically 15โ25mm) and smooth finish before edge banding and assembly. The 1350mm or 1650mm working width accommodates standard cabinet widths, with the machine's adjustable thickness capacity ensuring uniform 0.5โ1mm thickness tolerance across batch runs of 50โ150 pieces per day.
