Formula VFK Clean Air Dust Extractor

Solid Wood Processing — SCM Group

High-performance dust extractor series offering competitive pricing with multiple model options for various woodworking applications. Available in four sizes to meet different air flow requirements.

The Formula VFK Clean Air Dust Extractor is a cartridge-based dust collection system engineered for woodworking machinery operations requiring reliable, continuous air extraction across diverse production scales. Designed to integrate directly with stationary woodworking equipment, the VFK series removes fine dust and chips at the point of generation, protecting both product quality and operator health in compliance with workshop air quality standards.

The series comprises four distinct models offering nominal air flow capacities from 884 m³/h up to 2262 m³/h, with corresponding static pressure ratings between 2210–2615 Pa, enabling connection to single or multiple machines depending on production demand. Filter surface areas scale from 5.3 m² on the compact model to 22 m² on the largest unit, delivering extended service intervals and consistent filtration performance. Dual collection hoppers (2 × 165 litres) are standard on the two larger models, reducing downtime for chip disposal during high-volume operations. Motor specifications range from 2.2 kW (three-phase, 400V 50Hz) for models 1–3 to 3 kW for the largest configuration, with exhaust outlets spanning 125–200 mm diameter to accommodate various ductwork installations.

This extractor family serves small to medium-sized woodworking facilities processing solid wood—including furniture makers, cabinet shops, and custom millwork operations—where capital investment must be balanced against performance demands. The mid-range pricing and modular capacity range allow operators to match extractor size to existing machinery configurations without oversizing or sacrificing collection efficiency. The Formula VFK is particularly suited for workshops running multiple edge banders, panel saws, thickness planers, or sanders simultaneously, where standalone machine filters are insufficient.

Applications

cabinet making

small workshop

Small cabinet shops with 2–4 woodworking machines benefit from the compact 884 m³/h or 1108 m³/h VFK models, which occupy minimal floor space (1045 × 830 mm footprint) while servicing panel saws, edge banders, and finishing stations. Single hoppers (165 litres) are adequate for typical daily throughput, and lower motor power (2.2 kW) reduces energy costs in smaller facilities.

panel processing

industrial workshop

Larger panel processing shops running continuous edgebanding and cross-cutting operations can deploy the 2262 m³/h model with 3 kW motor and 200 mm exhaust diameter to handle high-volume, consistent dust streams. Dual hoppers and 22 m² filter area minimize manual intervention, supporting production targets in 50+ employee facilities.

custom millwork

medium workshop

Custom millwork operations processing hardwood and softwood profiles through moulder, planer, and rip saw equipment rely on the mid-range models (1448 m³/h) to maintain consistent air extraction across varying chip sizes and densities. Static pressure of 2247 Pa ensures reliable pull even from long duct runs to remote machinery, while cartridge filtration preserves air quality in finishing areas.

furniture production

medium workshop

Medium-scale furniture makers using the 1448 m³/h or 2262 m³/h models can extract dust from multiple machines—such as thickness planers, edge banders, and sanders—through a single ducted system. The 22 m² filter surface area on the largest model handles sustained chip loads from batch processing, with dual 165-litre hoppers reducing collection interruptions during 8–10 hour production runs.
