Gabbiani GT 3

Panel Processing — SCM Group

Single beam panel saw offering high performance in quality for cut finishing and working speed. Available in three blade projection sizes with multiple cutting length options.

The Gabbiani GT 3 is a single-beam panel saw engineered for high-precision crosscutting and ripping of large panel stock in industrial woodworking environments. Its rigid beam construction and single-blade design deliver superior cut quality and dimensional accuracy across extended production runs, making it a foundational machine for any panel processing operation requiring both speed and finish quality.

The machine's technical architecture centers on variable blade projection (130, 145, or 165 mm options) paired with main blade motors ranging from 15 to 37 kW depending on configuration, allowing operators to match cutting demands across different material densities and thicknesses. Working lengths span 3200 to 5600 mm with corresponding blade motor speeds of 3500 or 2950 r.p.m. (50 Hz), while the pusher system delivers variable speeds up to 170 m/min with a standard operating speed of 135 m/min. The pneumatic clamp system—six clamps standard (seven on 4500 and 5600 mm versions), including three double-finger squaring clamps and 3-4 front aligners—ensures consistent panel registration and prevents drift during processing.

The Gabbiani GT 3 is purpose-built for medium to large-scale cabinet shops, furniture manufacturers, and panel converters processing melamine, particleboard, MDF, and solid wood panels in daily volumes of 100+ pieces. The 600 mm maximum stack height on the lifting table enables batch processing efficiency while maintaining single-pass cutting accuracy. This machine class is preferred by operations that require superior edge finish quality without secondary sanding, fast throughput rates without sacrificing precision, and the flexibility to handle variable panel dimensions within its configured range.

Applications

engineered wood panel conversion

industrial workshop

Panel converters and distributors process large volumes of incoming sheets into retail-ready blanks and component kits using the GT 3's high-speed capability (135 m/min standard pusher speed) and variable clamp arrays. The 5600 mm cutting length option handles full-width European panels with minimal repositioning, while the 37 kW motor configuration supports rapid processing of engineered composites and solid wood at production rates exceeding 400 pieces daily.

custom millwork panel cutting

medium workshop

Custom millwork and fit-out shops use the Gabbiani GT 3 to process bespoke panel orders with varying dimensions and materials—solid wood, engineered boards, and laminates—in short to medium runs (50–200 pieces per job). The flexible motor options (15–37 kW) and blade projection settings allow quick adaptation to different material specifications, while the 600 mm stack height enables efficient gang-cutting of custom widths.

furniture panel processing

medium workshop

Furniture assembly shops rely on the GT 3 to achieve tight dimensional tolerances and superior finish quality on veneered panels and MDF blanks for cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and tabletops. The single-blade design minimizes kerf loss and material waste, while the 3200–4500 mm cutting length range accommodates standard European panel formats. Squaring accuracy and edge straightness reduce downstream hand-finishing labor.

cabinet components production

industrial workshop

Large-volume cabinet manufacturers use the Gabbiani GT 3 to crosscut and rip melamine and particleboard panels into case sides, shelves, and door blanks with consistent edge quality. The variable pusher speeds (0–170 m/min) and 6–7 clamp configuration allow synchronized processing of mixed component sizes within a single batch, while blade projections up to 165 mm handle material stacks efficiently. Output of 300–500 pieces per shift is typical for 32 mm stock.
