MP365 Planer / Moulder
A compact, versatile four-sided planer/moulder with a fifth universal cutter for professional woodworking shops. It produces high-quality finished materials such as flooring, profiled boards, mouldings, and furniture components in a single pass.
The Wood-Mizer MP365 is a four-sided planer/moulder with an integrated fifth universal cutterhead, designed to mill solid wood stock into finished components in a single pass. The machine combines horizontal top and bottom cutterheads with dual side cutterheads to simultaneously plane and profile all four faces of workpieces, eliminating multiple handling operations and reducing setup time in professional woodworking environments.
The MP365's technical architecture features a 510 mm top cutterhead and 410 mm bottom cutterhead for horizontal processing, paired with side cutterheads capable of handling stock heights from 40 to 160 mm. The fifth cutterhead offers exceptional flexibility with a tilt angle adjustment range of 0โ270ยฐ, enabling angled and complex profile cuts without repositioning the workpiece. The machine is equipped with 19.25 kW total installed power and HSS straight knife blades, delivering consistent finish quality across extended production runs. Four secondary dust extraction ports (100 mm) plus a 125 mm main extraction port ensure effective chip and dust management across all cutterhead stations.
The MP365 is engineered for medium-sized professional woodworking shops and small-to-medium contract millwork operations that process between 50โ500 board feet daily. This machine excels in production of flooring, mouldings, profiled boards, and architectural trim where dimension precision and surface quality are critical. The standard 1.1 m infeed table can be upgraded to a 1.9 m roller table for handling longer stock, supporting production flexibility without increased footprint.
Within its class, the MP365 bridges the gap between three-knife moulder-planers and full-featured industrial four-square systems. Its modular fifth-head design and adjustable side capacity (40โ160 mm) provide greater versatility than single-orientation four-square machines, while maintaining lower capital investment and floor space than larger industrial installations. The combination of top/bottom horizontal processing with independently adjustable side cutting makes it particularly suited to custom profile work and batch production of non-standard dimensions.

Applications
custom millwork
medium workshopCustom architectural trim, exterior mouldings, and interior casings are produced by configuring the five cutterheads to specific customer profiles. The 0โ270ยฐ fifth-head tilt angle allows complex angled cuts and curved profiles that would require custom tooling or multiple machines on conventional equipment, making small custom runs economically viable.
flooring production
medium workshopThe MP365 processes rough-sawn or kiln-dried flooring blanks through all four sides in a single pass, producing tongue-and-groove or V-groove profiles with the fifth adjustable cutterhead. A medium shop can mill 100โ300 board feet daily of finished flooring ready for sanding and finishing, reducing labour costs and material handling compared to sequential single-head operations.
furniture component moulding
small workshopFurniture makers use the MP365 to plane and mould table legs, chair rails, frame stiles, and decorative panels from 40โ160 mm stock in finished dimensions. The extended side planing height combined with the adjustable fifth cutterhead eliminates secondary shaping operations, accelerating the path from rough lumber to final assembly.
timber construction profiling
medium workshopEngineered timber products such as laminated beams, shiplap cladding, and structural trim are dimensioned and profiled to specification in a single pass across the 410 mm extended moulding width. The machine's 1.9 m optional roller table accommodates longer construction-grade stock, supporting batch production of building components without intermediate repositioning.
