Accord 400

CNC Machining Centers โ€” SCM Group

The Accord 400 is a new generation CNC machining centre designed for drilling and routing operations. It meets the needs of small and medium-sized businesses with versatile functionality.

The Accord 400 is a flexible CNC machining centre engineered for precision drilling and routing operations in woodworking and composite material processing. Built by SCM Group, it combines a high-speed electrospindle routing unit with an independent multi-spindle drilling system, enabling simultaneous or sequential machining of complex geometries without tool changes between operations.

The machine delivers distinctive technical advantages through configurable working areas (3100 ร— 1600 mm up to 5500 ร— 1600 mm), selectable axis configurations (4-axis or 5-axis), and electrospindle power ranging from 13.5 kW to 15 kW with 24,000 rpm capability. Feed speeds reach 84 m/min (PRO-SPACE) or 120 m/min (PRO-SPEED), depending on configuration. The integrated drilling unit accommodates up to 21 independent vertical spindles at 8,000 rpm with a 125 mm ร˜ integrated blade, enabling rapid multi-hole drilling patterns while the routing spindle handles detailed profile work. Tool changers span 12 to 18 positions depending on model selection (TRB, RAPID, FAST, or VELOCE systems).

The Accord 400 addresses production requirements of small to medium-sized woodworking enterprises seeking higher throughput than manual routing machines without the footprint or investment of full industrial gantry systems. It handles solid wood, engineered panels, composites, and soft metals with equal efficiency, supporting batch volumes from 50 to 500+ pieces per day depending on operation complexity and material thickness.

Compared to entry-level CNC routers, the Accord 400's dual-spindle architecture and scalable working area options provide workshop flexibility; compared to larger industrial machining centres, it maintains operator accessibility and reduced programming complexity while maintaining precision tolerances essential for furniture components, cabinet sides, and architectural elements.

Applications

cabinet making

medium workshop

Medium-sized cabinet shops use the Accord 400 to drill pocket holes, shelf pin holes, and hinge cup recesses across multiple cabinet sides simultaneously via the 21-spindle drilling unit (8,000 rpm), then switch to 5-axis routing (15 kW, 24,000 rpm) for edge profiling and decorative details. This dual-operation capability reduces setup time and increases throughput for batch runs of 100โ€“300 cabinet units monthly.

window door production

medium workshop

Window and door frame manufacturers use the Accord 400 to drill multiple mounting holes, rout weatherseal grooves, and machine lock and hinge recesses on vertical frame members up to 5.5 m long (via multiple working area configurations). The 4-axis or 5-axis spindle option accommodates angled cuts for complex profiles, supporting daily volumes of 60โ€“150 frames.

furniture production

medium workshop

Furniture manufacturers leverage the machine's configurable working areas (up to 5500 ร— 1600 mm) and high feed speeds (120 m/min PRO-SPEED) to produce table legs, chair frames, and panel assemblies with routed joinery, mortises, and decorative edges in a single setup. The tool changer capacity (12โ€“18 positions) eliminates frequent manual changes, enabling production runs of 200+ components daily with consistent quality.

panel processing

small workshop

Small shops processing engineered panels and composite sheets use the Accord 400's compact 3100 ร— 1600 mm entry configuration paired with the efficient drilling unit to perforate acoustic panels, edge-band panels, and drill reference holes for assembly hardware. Lower-speed PRO-SPACE (84 m/min) operation reduces tool wear on abrasive materials while maintaining accuracy.
