Accord 500

CNC Machining Centers — SCM Group

The accord 500 is a CNC machining center that combines compactness, ease of use, and high technology for solid wood elements and furniture sector applications. Available in PRO-SPACE version without perimeter protections for space-constrained facilities.

The Accord 500 is a 5-axis CNC machining center engineered for high-precision routing, drilling, and multi-operation processing of solid wood and engineered wood products. It delivers simultaneous 5-axis capability with 20 kW electrospindles capable of 24,000 rpm, enabling complex geometries, edge profiling, and 3D shaping in a single setup—critical for furniture and architectural woodworking where part complexity demands minimal repositioning.

The machine offers six configurable working area options ranging from 3,715 × 1,600 mm to 6,715 × 1,900 mm, with the PRO-SPACE version delivering X-Y-Z speeds of 25-80-45 m/min and the PRO-SPEED variant reaching 90 m/min on the X-axis for faster linear throughput. The patented Optizone system provides flexible work-area definition during programming, reducing nesting waste and cycle time. Tool flexibility is extensive: operators can choose from five tool changer configurations (TRB, CADDY, RAPID, QUADRO, FAST, or VELOCE) with capacities ranging from 11 to 35 positions, complemented by a dedicated drilling spindle system with up to 31 drilling stations and integrated 125 mm saw blade for single-pass edge processing.

The Accord 500 targets mid-to-large production workshops and industrial manufacturers processing solid wood components, kitchen and bedroom furniture, architectural millwork, and custom cabinetry where batch sizes justify investment in 5-axis capability and tool-change automation. The machine handles routine mortising, pocket routing, and shaped-edge profiling alongside bespoke sculptural work, making it suitable for shops balancing custom orders with repeated production runs. Its modular configuration allows capacity scaling without equipment replacement—users can upgrade spindle power (20-21 kW options) or expand table size as production demands evolve.

Applications

custom millwork

medium workshop

High-end custom millwork and architectural woodshops employ the Accord 500 for bespoke interior components—mantels, ornamental paneling, custom door frames, and built-in cabinetry with site-specific geometry. The Optizone variable work-area definition allows programmers to nest unique, non-standard parts efficiently, while 5-axis simultaneous machining handles angled mortises, complex edge details, and sculptural surfaces without repositioning. Batch sizes of 5–50 pieces per design are typical, with the drilling spindle (up to 31 stations) and integrated saw blade enabling furniture hardware boring and edge trimming in a single machine.

solid wood crafting

small workshop

Specialized wood-craft and art studios leverage the Accord 500's 5-axis precision for sculptural work, inlay routing, and complex artistic forms where traditional methods are time-prohibitive. The 20 kW spindle and 24,000 rpm capability allow fine detail work in hardwoods and exotic species, while the machine's flexibility—via multiple tool-changer options and variable work-area programming—accommodates one-off and limited-edition pieces. The PRO-SPACE or PRO-SPEED configurations suit studios with moderate space and energy constraints.

furniture production

medium workshop

Medium-volume furniture manufacturers use the Accord 500 to machine complex wooden components—table legs, chair frames, curved backs, and decorative elements—in 5-axis setups that eliminate secondary handling. With a 20 kW spindle at 24,000 rpm and working areas up to 6,715 × 1,900 mm, the machine completes curved profiling, mortise-and-tenon pocketing, and decorative surface routing on solid wood stock in single cycles. The CADRY or QUADRO 35-position tool changers minimize manual tool changes, enabling production runs of 50–500 units per product variant.

panel processing

industrial workshop

Large-scale panel processors and kitchen cabinet manufacturers use the Accord 500 with extended 6,715 mm working length to machine multiple cabinet sides, shelves, and decorative panels in single runs. The 90 m/min X-axis speed (PRO-SPEED) on straight routing reduces cycle time on repetitive edge profiling and pocket drilling, while the integrated drilling spindle (up to 31 stations) handles hinge and shelf-pin boring in one pass. Tool changers with 35-position capacity minimize downtime; production volumes of 200–1000+ cabinet components per week are achievable.
