Accord WD
CNC Machining Centers — SCM Group
Flexible work cell for window and door frame production with automatic loading and unloading system. Designed for efficient CNC routing and drilling operations.
The Accord WD is a 5-axis CNC machining center purpose-built for high-volume window and door frame production. It combines automatic loading and unloading with intelligent tool management to create a semi-autonomous production cell that minimizes manual handling and maximizes machine utilization across full production shifts.
The machine is equipped with a 13 kW electrospindle capable of 18,000 rpm, enabling both aggressive material removal and precision finishing operations in a single setup. Tool accessibility is optimized through a three-tier storage system: 12 positions on the machining head for active tools, 48 positions in the rear store for rapid changeovers, and 12 additional positions on the side, delivering 72 total tool positions. Linear axis speeds of 90 m/min on X-Y and 30 m/min on Z ensure competitive cycle times. Available working envelope configurations of 3680×1905×350 mm or 6360×1905×350 mm accommodate both standard and extended frame dimensions without repositioning.
The Accord WD targets medium to large production facilities processing solid wood, engineered wood, and wood composites for architectural joinery. It handles drilling, routing, mortising, and profiling operations required for multi-component frame assembly—including stile-and-rail joinery, hinge and hardware pocket routing, and glazing rebate machining. The automatic loading system supports continuous production runs of 50+ units per shift, making it suitable for contract manufacturers and OEM suppliers serving regional window and door markets.

Applications
solid wood crafting
small workshopBespoke woodworking studios use the Accord WD for low-volume production of architectural elements: curved door panels, inlaid frames, and sculptural components requiring 5-axis finishing. Rear and side tool stores support rapid bit changes between materials (solid hardwood, veneer, MDF), while the 13 kW spindle handles both softwoods and hard exotics without power limitations.
panel and component routing
medium workshopSuppliers of flat-panel components—drawer fronts, cabinet sides, shelving with routed edges—leverage the Accord WD's speed (90 m/min X-Y traverse) and precision for high-throughput edge profiling, pocket routing for hardware, and through-drilling. Automatic loading reduces labor on repetitive runs of 100+ identical parts per day.
window door production
industrial workshopThe Accord WD's core application: producing assembled window and door frame components in volume. The automatic loading/unloading system enables operators to stage raw stiles, rails, and mullions for continuous machining of mortises, tenons, hinge pockets, and glazing rabbets. With 72 tool positions and 5-axis capability, a single setup handles all frame geometry without manual tool changes, achieving 40–60 frames per 8-hour shift depending on complexity.
architectural joinery production
medium workshopCustom and semi-custom joinery shops use the Accord WD to machine complex frame joints—mortise-and-tenon, cope-and-stick, and doweled assemblies—in batches of 10–30 identical frames. The 5-axis electrospindle handles angled drilling and compound routing for decorative mullion profiles and structural connections. Extended working area (6360 mm option) accommodates full-height door frames in single-pass machining.
