DMC SD 60
Sanding & Calibrating โ SCM Group
The DMC SD 60 is a compact wide belt sander designed for calibrating MDF, chipboard, and other materials. It offers versatile sanding and calibrating capabilities for woodworking applications.
The DMC SD 60 is a compact wide belt sander engineered for precision calibrating and sanding of engineered wood panels and solid materials in both workshop and light industrial settings. It combines automatic feed control with dual-motor configuration to deliver consistent thickness reduction and surface finishing across MDF, chipboard, plywood, and similar substrates without operator intervention.
The machine is equipped with a dual 11 kW motor group driving sanding belts up to 1.370 mm wide, capable of processing materials between 4โ170 mm thickness with variable feed speeds of 4.5 or 9 m/min. This flexible speed adjustment allows operators to balance material removal rates against surface quality, critical when working with veneered panels or moisture-sensitive engineered boards. The 1.100 and 1.350 mm working width options provide flexibility for mid-range production without requiring oversized floor space.
The DMC SD 60 is positioned for small-to-medium woodworking operations and panel processors that require reliable calibration without the footprint or cost of large industrial sanders. It is particularly suited for fabricators transitioning from manual sanding to automated thickness control, or for operations processing consistent batches of MDF, chipboard blanks, and engineered materials destined for furniture components, cabinet panels, or construction elements. The compact design makes it viable for workshops with space constraints while maintaining production throughput suitable for 5โ50-person operations.

Applications
custom millwork
medium workshopCustom door and frame manufacturers use the DMC SD 60 to calibrate engineered substrates and pre-laminated panels before routing and edge-banding operations. The machine's ability to handle 4โ170 mm thickness and maintain dimensional accuracy supports production of custom-sized panel assemblies with minimal secondary hand-sanding, improving throughput for job-shop environments.
panel processing
medium workshopThe DMC SD 60 automates calibration of MDF and chipboard panels used as substrate blanks for furniture and cabinet production. Operating at 4.5โ9 m/min feed speed with dual motors, it efficiently brings stacks of 4โ170 mm thick panels to exact thickness tolerance, eliminating manual sanding and ensuring consistency across batch runs of 50โ500 pieces per day.
industrial batch production
industrial workshopMid-scale panel distributors and component manufacturers deploy the DMC SD 60 for high-volume calibration of chipboard and MDF stock. The dual 11 kW motor configuration and automated feed system enable processing 200โ400 panels daily, with repeatable thickness control that reduces waste and secondary finishing labor in production batches.
engineered board sanding
small workshopSmall furniture component makers use the DMC SD 60 to sand veneered chipboard and MDF blanks destined for cabinet sides, shelving, and tabletops. The variable feed speed (4.5 m/min) allows careful surface finishing on veneer-faced panels without blowout, while the 1.115โ1.370 mm belt width accommodates standard panel widths in European cabinet construction.
