Morbidelli M90

CNC Machining Centers — SCM Group

CNC machining center designed for routing and drilling operations on wood panels. Features independent vertical and horizontal spindles with high-speed routing capabilities.

The Morbidelli M90 is a high-performance CNC machining center purpose-built for complex routing and drilling operations on wood panels and solid wood elements. It delivers simultaneous multi-spindle capability with independent vertical and horizontal drilling units (up to 21 and 10 respectively), combined with a dedicated high-speed routing motor, enabling comprehensive single-setup processing of components without repositioning.

The machine's technical architecture centers on dual-spindle independence: the routing unit operates at 24,000 rpm with 14–19 kW power capacity for profile milling and edge work, while the drilling spindles achieve 8,000 rpm for precision hole placement. The 3115 × 1320 mm working envelope with 1600 mm Y-axis panel clearance and 180 mm Z-axis clearance accommodates large panel formats typical in furniture and cabinetry production. Vectorial feed speeds reach 56 m/min, and the integrated 125 mm blade in the X-axis supports edge cutting operations. The 25-position tool changer reduces setup time and supports tool flexibility across drilling, routing, and cutting tasks in a single program cycle.

The M90 targets medium to industrial woodworking operations that demand production efficiency without sacrificing precision—manufacturers of cabinet components, furniture parts, architectural millwork, and panel-based products benefit from its multi-axis simultaneity and high tool capacity. The machine's combination of power (up to 19 kW routing motor), speed (24,000 rpm), and spindle density positions it above entry-level machining centers, making it economical for batch production runs of 50–500+ units where tool-change time and setup reduction directly impact per-unit cost.

Applications

cabinet component production

industrial workshop

The M90 executes cabinet side panels, shelving, and door blanks with simultaneous drilling for shelf pins and hinge cups while routing profiles on edges—all in one setup. With up to 21 vertical and 10 horizontal spindles, a single component cycle can complete drilling arrays and edge profiling, reducing handling and increasing throughput for batch runs of kitchen and office cabinetry.

furniture frame and panel assembly

medium workshop

The machine efficiently processes panel frames and substrate components by combining routing for mortise profiles and edge banding grooves with precision drilling for dowel holes and connector sockets. The 3115 × 1320 mm table accommodates full-size panel blanks, and the 25-tool changer allows rapid switching between routing bits and drill sets without manual changeover, critical for mid-volume production of modular and flat-pack furniture.

architectural millwork and custom woodwork

medium workshop

High-end custom woodworking shops use the M90 to produce complex architectural elements—wall paneling, wainscoting, custom door inserts, and decorative moldings—by combining the 14–19 kW routing motor (24,000 rpm capable) with multi-spindle drilling for assembly hardware. The machine's precision spindle control and independent vertical/horizontal axis configuration enable intricate detail work on both edges and faces in controlled production batches.

composite panel and specialty substrate processing

industrial workshop

Manufacturers of engineered wood products and composite panels leverage the M90's high-speed routing (24,000 rpm) and multi-spindle configuration to process edge banding, drilling fixture holes, and face milling on MDF, plywood, and veneer substrates at production scale. The integrated 125 mm blade and 56 m/min vectorial speed support large-format panel processing with dimensional accuracy required for secondary finishing operations.
