Morbidelli P200
CNC Machining Centers — SCM Group
CNC machining centre for routing, drilling and edge banding operations. Discover infinite drilling, milling and edge treatment processes.
The Morbidelli P200 is an enterprise-class CNC machining centre engineered for simultaneous multi-operation processing of composite panels, solid wood, and engineered materials. Built on SCM Group's ProSpace/ProSpeed platform, it combines high-speed routing, precision drilling, and integrated edge banding in a single work envelope, eliminating intermediate material handling and reducing production cycle times for complex component workflows.
The machine's technical architecture centres on a modular spindle configuration: a 15 kW routing unit operating at up to 24,000 rpm handles profiling and cavity work, while independent vertical and horizontal drilling stations (up to 21 and 12 spindles respectively) enable simultaneous multi-axis hole placement at 8,000 rpm. The X-Y work area scales from 3,110 × 1,620 mm to 5,510 × 1,620 mm depending on production footprint, with Z-axis panel passage speeds of 180 m/min and vectorial speeds reaching 78 mm/s in ProSpeed configuration. The 60-position automatic tool changer supports rapid tool switching without cycle interruption. Integrated edge banding capability processes edge stock from 0.4 to 3 mm thickness on panel heights up to 85 mm, completing finished edges in-process.
This platform serves medium to large furniture manufacturers, cabinet shops, and panel processors requiring high-volume production of dimensionally complex components—nested kitchen cabinet sides, drawer boxes with routed profiles and pocket holes, or pre-finished panels with applied edge banding. The simultaneous multi-spindle architecture is particularly suited to batch runs of 50+ identical or quasi-identical parts per shift, where setup amortization and reduced material handling justify the machine's capital investment and footprint requirements.

Applications
cabinet component production
industrial workshopHigh-volume production of cabinet panels (sides, tops, shelves) with routed edges, pocket hole drilling for hardware mounting, and applied edge banding in one setup. The 21 independent vertical spindles enable simultaneous drilling of shelf pin holes and frame connector pockets across multiple panel positions, while the 15 kW routing unit profiles perimeter edges and applies decorative grooves. Edge banding (0.4–3 mm thickness) is integrated, eliminating separate edge-processing steps and delivering finished components ready for assembly.
solid wood component manufacturing
medium workshopProduction of premium solid-wood furniture components—table leaves, cabinet frames, drawer fronts—requiring routed details (edge profiles, inlays), precision drilling for joinery hardware, and applied edge banding on exposed grain surfaces. The 15 kW routing motor and 24,000 rpm speed accommodate dense hardwoods (oak, walnut, maple) without chatter, while the multi-spindle drilling system ensures consistent hardware hole placement across batch runs of 20–100 identical pieces.
composite panel processing
medium workshopFinishing and drilling of melamine, veneer, and plywood panels for office furniture, modular systems, and commercial fit-out. The machine handles edge-banding application (16–85 mm edge height) on panels with simultaneous hole boring for dowels, cam locks, and bracket systems. The 12 horizontal spindles are particularly suited to edge-drilling operations on panel sides without manual repositioning, improving throughput and accuracy for semi-custom production runs.
kitchen furniture manufacturing
industrial workshopProduction of kitchen carcass components—cabinet backs, internal dividers, and door blanks—where each part requires routing (for hinges and hardware mounting), multi-point drilling (for shelf supports and rail systems), and edge finishing. The 5,510 × 1,620 mm working area accommodates full-size panel nesting of multiple components per cycle. Vectorial speeds of 78 mm/s (ProSpeed) and 24,000 rpm routing enable cycle times under 2 minutes per part in optimized workflows.
