SAWTEQ S-300 plastics
Panel Processing โ Homag Group
Panel dividing saw specialized for plastics processing with precision cutting capabilities and material-dependent automation. Available in multiple cutting lengths with reverse cutting functionality for thin materials.
The SAWTEQ S-300 plastics is a precision panel dividing saw engineered specifically for high-volume plastics processing operations. Unlike general-purpose panel saws, this machine is purpose-built to handle the unique material characteristics of plasticsโincluding acrylic, PVC, polycarbonate, and composite sheetsโwith optimized cutting parameters that minimize chipping, melting, and edge degradation.
The machine delivers its performance through several technical differentiators: a robust 24 kW (50 Hz) or 28 kW (60 Hz) main saw motor drives cutting speeds of 0.1โ150 m/min, enabling both precision shallow cuts and aggressive material removal. The saw carriage achieves program fence speeds up to 90 m/min for rapid positioning between cuts, while the 95 mm blade projection depth handles thick stock and composite laminates. CADmatic 5 control software incorporates material-dependent automation, allowing operators to load cutting programs that automatically adjust feed rates, blade speed, and pressure parameters based on selected material typeโeliminating manual setup trial-and-error.
Available in three cutting lengths (3,200 / 3,800 / 4,300 mm), the S-300 plastics accommodates both standard sheet formats and custom-width blanks. The 24-inch full-HD multi-touch interface provides real-time process monitoring and intuitive program selection. Reverse cutting functionality supports bidirectional material flow for layout optimization and reduced material waste.
This machine targets medium to industrial workshops processing plastic sheets in batch volumes: custom signage shops, acrylic fabricators, protective barrier manufacturers, and automotive interior panel suppliers. Its material-aware automation and variable cutting parameters address the precision and edge-quality demands of plastics cutting where standard woodworking panel saws typically produce inferior results.

Applications
acrylic signage fabrication
medium workshopMedium-volume acrylic sign manufacturers use the S-300 plastics to cut sheet acrylic (cast and extruded) into blanks for engraving, routing, and lamination. The material-dependent CADmatic parameters optimize blade speed and feed rate to prevent crazing and thermal stress fractures common in acrylic, while the 90 m/min fence speed enables rapid positioning for production runs of 50โ500 pieces per day across multiple cutting lengths (3,200โ4,300 mm).
protective barrier manufacturing
medium workshopManufacturers of acrylic and polycarbonate protective barriers (sneeze guards, machine guards, medical dividers) require fast, clean crosscuts with minimal edge chipping. The S-300 plastics delivers this through material-specific blade speed optimization and controlled feed rates, supporting daily production of 100โ300 custom-sized panels in various thicknesses while the 3,800 mm standard cutting length accommodates most barrier widths without secondary processing.
automotive interior panel blanking
industrial workshopAutomotive Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers producing interior trim panels, dashboard components, and protective barriers use the S-300 plastics for precision blanking of polycarbonate, ABS, and modified polypropylene sheets. The CADmatic 5 software stores setup recipes for different material grades and thicknesses, enabling repeatable edge quality and dimensional accuracy (critical for subsequent assembly operations) while the 24 kW/28 kW motor sustains continuous production without thermal drift.
pvc composite sheet processing
industrial workshopLarge-scale processors of PVC foamboard, coated composites, and multilayer plastic panels leverage the 95 mm blade projection and variable carriage speeds (0.1โ150 m/min) to handle thick and composite stock without delamination. The reverse cutting function optimizes material nesting for panels with directional coatings or printing, reducing waste on high-volume jobs (1,000+ pieces monthly) across standard and custom widths.
