SAWTEQ S-500

Panel Processing โ€” Homag Group

A high-performance panel dividing saw designed for high material throughput and large-format processing with cutting lengths up to 6500 mm. Features an extremely stable, low-vibration saw body made of SORB TECH and precision saw carriage for maximum dynamics.

The SAWTEQ S-500 is a high-performance panel dividing saw engineered for automated primary and secondary processing of large-format panel materials in industrial woodworking operations. The machine delivers precision crosscutting and ripping of solid wood, veneer, and engineered panels with cutting lengths up to 6,500 mm, supported by a torsion-resistant SORB TECH saw body that minimizes vibration and deflection across extended cutting runs.

The machine's technical architecture centers on dynamic processing capability: a main saw motor rated at 30โ€“54 kW (depending on configuration) drives the blade to maximum projection depths of 150โ€“170 mm, while independent carriage and fence systems achieve velocities of 130โ€“150 m/min and 90 m/min respectively. This dual-motion design enables rapid traverse between cuts without sacrificing accuracy. The 24-inch full-HD multi-touch display and integrated CADmatic 5 software provide real-time job programming, material nesting optimization, and machine diagnostics, reducing setup time and human error in high-volume production.

The S-500 is purpose-built for mid-to-large scale woodworking facilities processing 50+ cubic meters of panel stock weekly. Typical operations include batch production of cabinet components, furniture blanks, architectural millwork elements, and custom laminated panels. The machine accommodates variable material thickness and density through motor and blade projection options, making it suitable for mixed-material production runs without reconfiguration downtime.

Within its class, the S-500 balances cutting speed (130 m/min carriage travel) with precision through rigid frame construction and low-vibration design, positioning it competitively against comparable European panel saws while maintaining modular configurability for shop-specific requirements.

Applications

panel processing

industrial workshop

Primary processing facility operation for suppliers converting large rolls or sheets of laminate, veneer, and composite panels into standard and custom blanks for downstream fabricators. The S-500's rigid SORB TECH frame maintains straightness and parallelism critical to secondary machining, while dual-motor options support varying material densities without blade binding.

custom millwork

medium workshop

Precision division of architectural elements including custom wall paneling, decorative trim assemblies, and built-in components requiring tight tolerances and varied cutting lengths up to 6,500 mm. The multi-touch CADmatic interface simplifies one-off and small-batch job setup without extensive manual measurement or guide repositioning.

cabinet component production

industrial workshop

High-volume cutting of cabinet sides, shelves, and backing panels from 3โ€“25 mm solid wood and plywood sheets. The S-500's 6,500 mm cutting length and 130 m/min carriage speed enable processing of full-size panels with minimal secondary handling, while CADmatic 5 nesting software maximizes material yield across mixed component sizes, supporting production runs of 500+ parts per shift.

furniture production

medium workshop

Primary panel processing for furniture manufacturers producing tables, desks, and storage units from engineered and solid wood panels. The machine's 50โ€“54 kW motor option handles dense MDF and veneer-faced boards, while programmable fence and carriage speeds reduce cycle time on repetitive cross and rip cuts, enabling production of 100โ€“200 finished components daily.
