SOLID CNC CR Series

CNC Machining Centers — Weinig Group

A comprehensive series of CNC machining centers from Weinig for solid wood processing, ranging from compact entry-level to high-performance models. Each machine handles corner joints, contouring, drilling, shaping and insert work in a single cycle.

The SOLID CNC CR Series is a multi-function CNC machining center purpose-built for solid wood processing, consolidating corner jointing, contouring, drilling, shaping, and insert shaping operations into a single machine platform. This eliminates the need for up to five separate traditional machines, reducing floor space, setup time, and operator complexity while maintaining precision across diverse wood processing tasks.

The series employs modular clamping technology through PowerGrip single clamping tables, PowerGrip Motion 3D systems, and Powergrip RePos easy clamping options, enabling rapid workpiece repositioning and securing for multi-sided machining without manual intervention. The maximum part width capacity of 330 mm accommodates standard solid wood components, while the CNC architecture supports both simple corner joints and complex longitudinal contours in a single cycle, minimizing material handling and cycle time waste.

The CR Series ranges from the compact entry-level SOLID CNC CR model through to the professional SOLID CNC CR 226, allowing woodworking shops to scale capability with production demand. This tiered approach serves individual part manufacturing, series production runs, and specialized frame-type window production—applications where precision joinery and repeatability are critical. Medium to industrial-scale operations benefit from the automation-ready design, while smaller fabrication shops can deploy entry-level models for core joint and profiling work without capital-intensive infrastructure investment.

Applications

custom millwork

medium workshop

Architectural and interior millwork shops machining custom profiles, complex joint geometries, and specialty contours on solid wood can program part-specific routines into the CR Series for repeatability across project runs. The ability to perform corner jointing and longitudinal shaping in sequence on workpieces up to 330 mm width reduces material handling and allows one operator to manage multiple cycle completions simultaneously.

industrial batch production

industrial workshop

High-volume production environments deploying the professional SOLID CNC CR 226 model can consolidate corner jointing, longitudinal contouring, and insert shaping for components like stair parts, architectural millwork, and engineered wood components. Automated clamping systems and single-cycle multi-operation capability maximize throughput while the CNC architecture ensures consistent quality across thousands of parts without operator intervention between cycles.

window door production

medium workshop

Frame-type window and door production relies on precise corner joints and consistent profile contours across multiple components per order. The SOLID CNC CR Series executes mortise-and-tenon joinery and frame edge profiling within 330 mm part width capacity in single-cycle operation, reducing scrap from setup errors and enabling repeatability across large frame batches. PowerGrip repositioning allows front and edge machining without manual flipping, critical for maintaining tolerances in window frame assemblies.

solid wood crafting

small workshop

Custom furniture and cabinetry makers producing individual or low-volume solid wood pieces benefit from the entry-level CR Compact model's ability to handle corner joints, shaping, and drilling in one setup. The flexible clamping options and compact footprint suit small shop environments, while the multi-process capability eliminates the need for separate shaping, drilling, and joining machines.
