FEEDBOT D-310 Robot Solution

CNC Machining Centers โ€” Homag Group

Automated feeding robot solution for the DRILLTEQ V-310 drilling center, providing full automation with camera technology for furniture production. Enables processing of workpieces with minimal space requirements and maximum flexibility.

The FEEDBOT D-310 is a robotic automation system engineered to integrate with the DRILLTEQ V-310 drilling center, eliminating manual feeding and enabling lights-out production for furniture and cabinet manufacturers. The system uses integrated camera technology for precision workpiece positioning and alignment, transforming single-operator workflows into fully automated multi-shift operations.

The robot accommodates workpieces ranging from 350 ร— 120 ร— 10 mm to 2,500 ร— 1,200 ร— 60 mm (expandable to 3,050 mm length), with maximum payload capacity of 60 kg per piece. This capability span makes it suitable for both small component processing and full-size panel drilling. The system is compatible with all major engineered wood substratesโ€”chipboard, MDF, HDF, and plywoodโ€”as well as solid wood, and handles melamine, raw, veneer, and laminate surface finishes without overlap concerns.

Designed for medium to industrial furniture production environments, the FEEDBOT D-310 delivers consistent cycle times and eliminates positioning errors inherent to manual feeding. Installation footprint of 11,500 ร— 7,000 ร— 2,160 mm allows integration into existing production lines without excessive facility reconfiguration. The maximum stacking height of 1,500 mm (including base frame) enables compact integration of workpiece buffers within the automation cell.

This solution targets production volumes of 500+ parts per shift where labor availability is constrained or operator fatigue impacts drilling accuracy. It significantly reduces scrap from misalignment while enabling the DRILLTEQ V-310 to operate autonomously during off-shift hours, increasing asset utilization and throughput without proportional labor scaling.

Applications

engineered wood processing

industrial workshop

Automated drilling and processing of laminate and melamine-faced panels for retail furniture, office systems, and storage solutions. The system's no-overlap tolerance and compatibility with pre-finished surfaces minimize edge-chipping and surface damage. Enables unmanned operation during second and third shifts, maximizing throughput for high-SKU, moderate-volume production environments.

furniture panel drilling

industrial workshop

High-volume drilling of cabinet sides, backs, and shelving panels (800โ€“2,500 mm length) for modular furniture systems. The robot's camera-guided positioning ensures consistent hole placement across chipboard and MDF substrates, enabling automated stacking and buffer management. Typical applications include drilling shelf pin holes, connector holes, and edge-banding attachment points for batch production runs of 1,000+ identical panels per shift.

custom cabinet making

medium workshop

Rapid changeover production of custom cabinet components in solid wood, plywood, and veneered panels up to 60 kg per piece. The FEEDBOT accommodates variable-geometry workpieces (350โ€“2,500 mm) and automatically adjusts to different drilling patterns via camera alignment, allowing small production batches (50โ€“200 pieces) without manual repositioning between runs. Ideal for kitchen and built-in cabinetry where hole patterns vary by design.

batch component drilling

medium workshop

Production of smaller components (350 ร— 120 mm minimum) such as drawer fronts, door panels, and connecting pieces that require precise multi-point drilling. Camera-based workpiece detection eliminates manual alignment, reducing cycle time and operator strain while improving hole accuracy to ยฑ0.5 mm across batches of 500+ identical parts.
